I drew this as a spur of the moment when I saw this beautiful sculpture. Satyre, a creature that’s half human, half goat, holds a bacchante, a nymph linked to the cult of Dionysus. I found this sculpture extremely interesting by the way the light fell on them and accentuated their beautiful curves. I used this as practice of volume and light and shadow. The shape was what captivated me the most and I enjoyed making the shadows the most. I liked the result so much that I even decided not to finish this piece and leave it as half finished.
